office of surrealist investigations
The Office of Surrealist Investigations began out of the surrealist drawing game of exquisite corpse and explorations between the surrealists and the Black Dahlia murder. Drawing queues from Art Spiegelman's narrative corpse, the drawing games have opened up this process further and into other media through collaborations with artists and non-artists resulting in zines and gallery exhibitions. I like all of the stuff you’ve posted on O’brien but I’m also pleased to see you posting your own work too.
I’d like to see you expand on a series of comics without text that still qualify as a narrative. But don’t let me boss you around, I’m just letting my mind wander.

I’ve always liked the captionless cartoon. This Narrative Corpse idea comes out of an idea put forth by Art Spiegelman borrowing from the Surrealist game of exquisite corpse. See Narrative Corpse one for more details. Each entry is done by a different artist with no restrictions, so captions and words are up to the artist. The intent is to have the narrative continue indefinitely. I am several panels ahead of what gets posted on this blog and will eventually put them all together in some kind of zine format. Perhaps i can pass on the latest portion to you.
